Top 10 Canadian Fall Premieres

The fall schedules for Canadian networks are chock full of old faves, reality show mainstays and a few newbies. Boasting some major home-grown talent, here are the top 10 Canadian fall premieres that will light up the upcoming TV season.


"Lost Girl"

A showcase gem starring the beautiful Anna Silk, "Lost Girl" kicks off another run on September 4th.


"Battle of the Blades"

CBC's popular competition-based show, which sees NHLers paired with professional female ice skaters who compete week to week, recently announced participants for season 3 – and for the first time a female hockey player joins the fun.


"Rick Mercer Report"

Canada's political funnyman and one of the networks ultimate darlings, Rick Mercer is back for his hilarious stints and thought-provoking rants on September 13th.



Probably the most recently successful Canadian show, "Flashpoint" with Hugh Dillon returns to CTV. Check the official site for dates and times (as they're going to change in the coming weeks).


"Dragons' Den"

What Canadian business ideas will the dragons be presented with this season on the CBC? Well, 233 businesses pitched to the dragons and more than 1400 hours of footage was recorded for the upcoming season, which premiers on September 14th.



This Canadian sketch comedy troupe of the same name will now have their own show, debuting on The Comedy Network this fall – catch the sneak peek August 31st.


"The Debaters"

The popular radiocomedy show is moving to TV screens on the CBC starting September 14th – comedian Shaun Majumder will host the first season.


"Paul Brandt’s Build it Forward"

The Canadian country music star will focus his attention on a few needy families as they build a house and then "pay it forward" by helping build a home for another needy family. It premiers on CMT.


"Call Me Fitz"

A top 10 Canadian fall premiers list wouldn't be complete without announcing the start of "Call Me Fitz" starring Jason Priestley – look for it on HBO Canada September 25th.


"Living In Your Car"

Another HBO Canada hit, the hilarious John Ralston-led comedy is back on the air for a later debut date of October 24th.
