Amanda Seyfried is best known for her acting career, which began at the early age of 15. Even before that, she was making a name for herself in modeling at the age of 11. Seyfried modeled kids' clothing lines through the age of 17.
In 2000, she began doing small, unaccredited roles before moving into recurring character spots on daytime talk shows, As the World Turns and All My Children.
In 2003, Amanda landed her first major role in the high school drama hit, Mean Girls, followed by other supporting roles in the following two years. Then in 2005, she landed her first lead in the film, Nine Lives. Seyfried's breakout year was 2006, which was the year she got a strong role in HBO's hit show, Big Love. She played the daughter of the leading characters of a Mormom Utah family for four seasons before moving onto bigger roles.

In 2008, she combined her singing and acting careers together opposite of Meryl Streep in the hit musical rendition of Mamma Mia! In 2010, she won the award for Best Female Performance for the Nicholas Sparks novel-made-movie, Dear John, and she snagged Breakthrough Female Star of the Year at the MTV Movie Awards for her role in Letters in Juliet. In 2011, she was named one of People Magazine's "25 Beauties at 25 List."
Seyfried had her busiest year to date in 2012 with five movie roles, including a leading role in the Les Miserables musical costarring Hugh Jackman and Anne Hathaway.
