Bio

Amber Rose Tamblyn was born on may 14, 1983 in Venice, California and is a third-generation Californian. Her mother is singer and artist, Bonnie Tamblyn, and her father is veteran actor, dancer, and singer, Russ Tamblyn, who is most famous for starring in the 196 film, "West Side Story." Taking cues from her father, Amber followed in his footsteps growing up, performing in 13 different plays between the time she was in kindergarten and 8th grade. It was when she was just ten years old, however, that she was discovered by her fathers agent, who convinced him to let her begin auditioning for roles in television and film.

Amber started out in the business by merely playing small roles in her father's films, including "Rebellious" and "Johnny Mysto: Boy Wizard." But prior to this, in 1995, she appeared in her first actual credited feature film role as Young Jill in "Live Nude Girls." Just one year later, she was cast on the long-running soap opera, "General Hospital," as the character of Emily, whom she played from 1996 to 1998. From there, she continued to act on television in guest role capacities on series such as "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Boston Public" before playing the first victim in the 2002 horror film, "The Ring," gaining her much attention due its popularity at the time. The following year, she was cast in the lead on the CBS series, "Joan of Arcadia," which really put her in the spotlight.

Since 2003, Amber has continued her rise to stardom, appearing in such popular films as "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" series, as well as "The Grudge 2" and "127 Hours." As far as television is concerned, after her stint on "Joan of Arcadia," she has since starred on series "The Unusuals," "House M.D.," and "Two and a Half Men" as the daughter to Charlie Sheen's deceased character.
