Ariana’s nicknames include “Ari” and “Little Red.” Her name “Ariana” was original inspired by Princess Oriana from “Felix the Cat.” And though a natural brunette, she dyes her hair red. As a young singing star on the rise, she is often hyped as “the next Selana Gomez.”

Ariana Grande was born in Boca Raton, Florida. She is a mix of Sicilian, Abruzzese and Italian ancestry. She grew up singing as a soloist in different symphonies, including South Florida’s Philharmonic, Pops and Symphonia Orchestras. Ariana Grande made her debut on Broadway at 15, originating the role of Charlotte in “13.” The role earned her a National Youth Theatre Associate Award. The job forced her to leave her high school, but the school sent her materials so she could study with a tutor.

Ariana later landed her role on “Victorious,” which ran from 2010 to 2013. The show earned nominations and awards from the Emmys, Kids’ Choice Awards and Teen Choice Awards. She reprised her character on the Nickelodeon series “Sam & Cat.” She said she and her character are alike. “We’re both fun loving and free spirited and silly and musical…my mood swings aren’t as drastic as Cat’s but I can totally understand where she’s coming from.”

Ariana is working on her first album “Daydreamin’”. Her first single was released in March 2013 and the album is expected to be released later in the year.

A bit of trivia: she is hypoglycemic and hyperactive. She also has 6.4 million Twitter followers and she tweets mainly positive advice and inspiration.

Ariana Grande is active in anti-bullying campaigns and said, “Don’t ever doubt yourself or waste a second of your life. It’s too short and you’re too special.”

Ariana is also more of an L.A. girl. Her favorite food is sushi and she also meditates. “Meditation is a great way to keep my body well-centered while juggling shooting schedules and recording sessions.”

Ariana Grande lives in Los Angeles, California.
