Desiree Hartsock is a reality TV contestant best known for her appearances on “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette.” She described herself on Twitter as “Designer, Lover of life and Bachelorette 9.”
Desiree Hartsock was born in Wyoming and her family moved several times before they settled down in Northglenn, Colorado. Her first job was as a hostess at Outback Steakhouse, and she played volleyball in high school. After she graduated, she moved to California to attend the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. She graduated in 2006 with a degree in Fashion Design.

Desiree Hartsock then became a bridal stylist at bridal salons. But she is most famous for her appearance on the 9th season of “The Bachelorette”. Previously, she was sent home on the 17th season of “The Bachelor” after her hometown date with Sean Lowe. She revealed on “The Bachelor” that growing up she sometimes lived in a tent or trailer park with her family when they hit financial hard times.
As far as being the Bachelorette, Desiree Hartsock said, “I was happy. I’m all ‘Look what I got into.’ It is very overwhelming, but since I had been in their shoes, I knew that they were more nervous than I was.”
She told Us magazine that she is a book nerd and would one day like to write one. One of her favorite movies is “Pride & Prejudice.” “I’m a hopeless romantic.” She is spiritual and tweets bible verses and names “Eat, Pray Love” as her favorite book.
If she could be anyone for one day, she would choose an Olympic champion. “To know what it feels like to physically work so hard to be the best in the world at something and have all that hard work pay off.”
A bit more trivia: Desiree Hartsock stays active, as she loves to hike, bike and play beach volleyball. Her girl crush is Jennifer Lawrence. She’s allergic to bee stings. “I once got stung on my face and looked like Quasimodo.” Penguins are her favorite animal and she would one day like to backpack through Europe.
As for dating, she loves it when her date “isn’t trying to be someone else or act different to impress me. When they can be candid and goofy and let the date proceed naturally.”
