Elena Semikina is a Russian-born beauty queen, now living in Canada, probably best known for her crown as Miss Universe Canada in 2010. She is currently the executive producer of “Our Man in Tehran,” a documentary about the Iranian hostage crisis.
Elena Semikina described herself on Twitter as “Producer, Actress, Miss Universe Canada 2010." She was born in the former Soviet Union in 1983, but moved to Toronto, Canada with her family in 2004. She attended York University in Toronto, where she studied marketing and finance. She was also enrolled in oratory, neuro-linguistic programming, acting and dance classes.

In 2010, Elena Semikina was crowned Miss Universe Canada and represented the country in the Miss Universe competition in Las Vegas, Nevada. She later served as an ambassador of tourism for Mexico, as well as traveled the globe for her duties with the pageant. She was active in charities, too.
Since her time as Miss Universe Canada, Elena Semikina began acting and made her debut in the film “Three Days in Havana.” She is also filming “Brave New Girl,” a series set to air on the E! Network.
