Lina Esco is an American actress, director and activist. She is probably best known for playing Jimmy Smits' daughter on the CBS show “Cane.” She has also appeared in a “Heroes” webisode.
Lina Esco was born and raised in Miami, Florida. After she turned 14, she moved to France and modeled. Then she moved to London and worked in theater. She became an actress, she said, because “I have always been a huge fan of the art of cinema…and expressing myself through it excites me more than anything in this world.” She added, “I love waking people up…getting them off their paradigm…robopathology has taken over this world. Humans act like robots! That’s why being an artist is living your life the way we all should live it.”

Her film debut was in 2005 in “London.” In 2006, Lina Esco moved to Hollywood, California and was cast in “CSI: NY.” She later joined the cast of “Cane.” She’s not a fan of night shoots. “They make me weak...and I feel like sh*t the next day…like a zombie…it’s like you’re off the current…off your flow.”
Over the years, Lina Esco has appeared in commercials, music videos and magazines. Her directorial debut was the 2012 PSA for the Oscar Award-winning documentary “The Cove.” She was most recently cast in the HBO pilot “Open.”
Lina Esco also directed her first film “Free the Nipple,” which is based on true events about a topless group of women who fought the censorship laws in New York City. Apparently, preachers and clergy in the 1900’s vilified women’s and men’s nipples and legislation was passed that all human areola were banned in public places.
Her film is actually facing an NC-17 rating, which is considered “pornography.” That makes it incredibly hard for her to get film distribution.
Lina Esco is currently single and resides in Los Angeles, California.
