Sharni Vinson is an Australian actress and dancer. She is most famous in the United States for her roles in the films "Step Up 3D," "Blue Crush 2," and "You're Next."
Sharni Vinson was born on July 22, 1983 in Sydney, Australia. Like most young actress, she knew she wanted to perform at a young age, practicing singing, dancing, and acting on her own until enrolling at the Brent Street School of Performing Arts at age 12. By the time she ws just 17, Sharni had already signed a contract with Roadshow Music as a member of the R&B band, "Foxfire IV." The band's first single, "Roses," even reached the top 50 ARIA's charts.
Of course, acting was Sharni's number one passion, and by 2004, she had landed her first official gig on the TV soap opera, "Home and Away," joining the show permanently that December. Of course, she had already appeared on the show twice before in previous years, but as a different character entirely. By 2006, Sharni had already managed to get nominated for a TV Week Logie Award for Best New Talent for her performance on the series. But alas, in 2008, she decided it was time to move on to bigger and better for her career, and moved to Los Angeles in order to make a go in the United States.
As it turned out, Sharni's move to the U.S. proved quite beneficial for the young actress, as after nabbing some small roles on TV series such as "CSI: NY," "My Boys," and "NCIS," she was cast in three movies between 2010 and 2011. The first of the films was "Step Up 3D," a franchise popular enough among dance fanatics that it really got her face out there to the mainstream audience. From there, she starred in the straight-to-DVD sequel, "Blue Crush 2," followed by another appearance on the big screen in the horror film, "You're Next." Her career has continued to heat up since, simmering on the brink of a boiling point that is sure to come very soon.
