Sophie Cookson is a British actress. She is best known for her role as Roxy in the blockbuster action movie "Kingsman: The Secret Service."
Sophie Louise L. Cookson was born in Melton, Suffolk, England on May 15, 1990. Growing up, she was very much into sports like many of the children her age, but also enjoyed singing, which would lead into a strong passion for the performing arts.
With only a brother and no other siblings, it was easy for her to be labeled the black sheep of the family, especially after her decision to leave university in favor of attending the Oxford School of Drama. However, such a decision would end up paying off in a big way when all of her hard work wound up getting her cast in the big budget action film "Kingsman: The Secret Service," putting her on the map to do even more huge projects in the future.
Of course, the success of being cast in such a major film didn't happen completely overnight (although, close to it). Sophie graduated early from Oxford in 2013 in order to take her first official acting job on the mini-series "Moonfleet." The following year, while nothing incredibly substantial in terms of scope, she again played some small roles on both the TV series "Rosamunde Pilcher" and the TV movie "Unknown Heart." From there, the rest is history, as she would soon audition for her role as Roxy in "Kingsman: The Secret Service" and gain international fame from doing so.
Since then, Sophie has continued to move along on her quest for the next big gig. In 2015, she was chosen to play Johanna 'Of Ghent' in the historical film "Emperor," which also starred actor Adrien Brody. She's expected to have a very steady career from there.
