I am truly amazed at how the average person takes the simplest of things and turns it into a goddamn disaster because they decided to do one or two other things instead of focusing solely on the task at hand.
For example, I used to date a girl who would alphabetize her CD collection while she was driving her Chevy Metro, and there were more than a few occasions when she came home and described how she had almost been in an accident. I mean, thank Christ it was always an “almost” instead of the real thing, as if she would have collided with a small cat while behind the wheel of that shitbox, it would have most definitely been curtains for her and not the cat.
The point, though, is that the majority of those near-misses wouldn’t have even occurred if she just would have focused on the 10-mile ride home. And that was something as simple as driving a car. Now imagine doing something that is already difficult on its own like water skiing, making it harder by removing the skis from the equation and then…wait for it…trying to slam a bottle of beer while cruising along the top of the water.
Was this young lady able to do it? Well, you’ll have to watch to find out. Although, odds are if she would have accomplished the feat without crashing face-first into the water, we wouldn’t have done a story on it.
