Lana Del Rey has announced a new record in true Lana Del Rey fashion. In a bewitching black and white trailer posted on her Facebook, the retro songstress revealed that her fifth studio album would be entitled Lust for Life.
In the campy teaser, complete with easter eggs (spot the Weeknd symbol?), Del Rey plays a mysterious version of her pouty-lipped self, who lives in the “H” in the Hollywood sign and loves to “dip my toe into the muck and the mires of the city every now and then. Especially on Tuesdays.”
The vintage imagery alludes that her follow-up to 2015’s Honeymoon will be more political and of the times (read: millennial Joan Baez) as we see an image of the Statue of Liberty with her torch blown out.
This news comes on the high heels of the release of her hit single, “Love,” which dropped last month, racking up 40 million YouTube views already. Flower power!
