Auditions For Green Day's American Idiot Musical

You may have loved their album American Idiot but now you can take in the Broadway musical – it opened in New York several months ago to great reviews and continues to be one of the most popular shows in the city. Now it’s coming to Toronto, and the company putting on the musical, Dancap Productions, is hosting an open casting call on March 26th.

The New York Times called it "thrilling and emotionally charged, as moving as anything on Broadway." Based on the multi-platinum album, which was released in 2004 and amassed several awards including a Grammy, the show features the hit tracks "Boulevard of Broken Dreams", "Holiday" and "21 Guns” and follows the story of three best friends who are trying to make their way through life following 9/11.

The idea to turn the album into a musical came to fruition in 2008 when Tony Award-winning director Michael Mayer teamed up with Green Day – together they created a tale that has captured the hearts of audiences everywhere.

In addition to American Idiot, Dancap also recently announced two other acts they’re bringing to TO – a concert with Colm Wilkinson as well as a show with the iconic brother-sister duo Donny and Marie Osmond. "Dancap Productions is constantly seeking out the newest and most interesting theatrical experiences for Toronto audiences," states Aubrey Dan, President of Dancap Productions, as reported by

American Idiot will be at the Toronto Centre for the Arts from December 28th until January 15th. If you’re interested in trying out or would like more information on the auditions visit
