Seattle grunge pioneers Soundgarden are planning to record a new album “very soon,” according to a post on the band’s official site. They even included a picture of themselves in the studio, as proof:

Over the past few months, we’ve been busy jamming, writing and hanging out together – exploring the creative aspect of being Soundgarden. It feels great. We have some cool new songs that we are going to record very soon. Thank you for all of the support!

The most recent “new” Soundgarden material to see the light of day was the track Black Rain, which was recorded during the Badmotorfinger sessions of the early 90s, but kept under wraps until last August. The track later appeared on the band’s greatest hits compilation Telephantasm: A Retrospective.
