The Red Hot Chili Peppers played a benefit show at Los Angeles' Club Nokia on Wednesday night (with openers Thelonious Monster), performing a flurry of new material from their fantastic upcoming I'm With You album (read our review) for a benefit concert for the Silverlake Conservatory of Music.

The Conservatory is a non-profit musical education organization founded by RHCP bassist Flea and Keith Barry that teaches kids the fundamentals of music and provides instruments. Chilis frontman Anthony Kiedis is also a member of the board of directors.

This remarkable nonprofit institution offers music lessons to youths in the region and scholarships for those who couldn't otherwise afford to pay for it. Proceeds from the show will go towards Silverlake’s operating costs and to support its scholarship program.
