White Stripes & Dead Weather nucleus and vinyl connoisseur Jack White is essentially the de-facto torch-bearer for vinyl in the modern age. His Third Man Records label has a record plant within a stones' throw of their studio, giving the Nashville operation an autonomous existence in the digital universe.
Now, White is embracing technology just a bit, by turning his love of vinyl into a product for the digital kids: an iPhone case made out of a seven-inch record.
A description on the Third Man website notes that the back of each case was made with a real seven-inch vinyl record. Even more badass is the fact that the user can actually switch out the record acting as the back of your case if you buy the additional iPhone inserts. There's white vinyl from the White Stripes' "Candy Cane Children," black vinyl from the Raconteurs' "Steady as She Goes," or yellow vinyl from the Dead Weather's "Treat Me Like Your Mother."
How badass is that?
Each case costs $30, with inserts coming at $20 a piece. True to Third Man form, the frame itself is available in white, yellow or black. Orders will ship on December 12 in the hopes that they will arrive before Christmas. Grab yours over at Third Man!
