Van Halen’s “Tattoo” Single & Video Arrives

Welcome back to the 80s, ladies and gentlemen.

Van Halen's comeback single has arrived, and it's like we're back in the 80s all over again. Check out the video below for "Tattoo," off the band's highly-anticipated comeback album A Different Kind Of Truth.

Yeah, pretty sure Diamond Dave actually sings "Swamp meat salad" a few times. Make of that what you will. Eddie Van Halen's clearly still got the chops, however, as evidenced by that sick little solo around the two-and-a-half minute mark.

A Different Kind Of Truth is Van Halen's first original studio album with singer David Lee Roth since the band’s classic multi-platinum album 1984, and is planned for a Feb. 7 release. With Mr. Roth back in the fold after a 22-year absence, a renewed dedication and sense of perfectionism is driving the band to produce material that lives up to their own legend. We'll let you decide whether "Tattoo" meets the quality standard set by "Jump," "Panama" and beyond.

Mark Tremonti, guitarist for Alter Bridge, has heard the new material and reports that it sounds like “vintage Van Halen.” Fingers crossed – either way, it's definitely on our list of the Most Anticipated Albums of 2012.
