The British Music Embassy have announced that they will again be returning to SXSW this year, bringing in their 5th year at the Austin, Texas festival with a whole host of musicians from across the UK.
Performances from Slow Club, Jonquil, Twin Atlantic and Clock Opera have all been confirmed, with the official launch line-up for Wednesday, March 14 also being released.
Taking to the stage for the New Music From Wales event shall be Future Of The Left (who at five-years-old aren't really that new at all), heavy rock/reggae outfit Skindred (whose first album was released in 2002 so again, not new) and singer-songwriter Sion Russell Jones (oh I give up).
This shall be followed by the British Music @ SXSW Launch Launch Party which shall feature the excellent Ben Howard, who shall also be embarking on an extensive US tour this year in order to promote the release of his album 'Every Kingdom' , with female sibling trio The Staves and the legendary Frank Turner also performing. This event will be Invite Only.
The 9pm – 2am timeslot will be filled by the likes of Fightstar-frontman-cum-solo-artist Charlie Simpson, Spycatcher, Turbogeist, The Xcerts and Cancer Bat, who shall be releasing their fourth studio album 'Dead Set On Living' this April and their SXSW appearance will mark the first time they play the new tracks live.
The event will take place in its own dedicated venue, Latitude 30, and will see more than sixty bands from across the UK take to the stage during the course of the week.
Stay tuned to Crave Online for more information on SXSW as and when it happens.
