Watch: Hot Chip Featured in The Simpsons

'Boy From School' soundtracks Bart's pre-teen crisis.

So London electro band Hot Chip featured in The Simpsons on US TV Sunday (April 29) night. No, they didn't put in a contrived cameo appearance a la The White Stripes – they instead soundtracked a scene in which Bart suffers an existential crisis, their track 'Boy From School' playing during a mildly depressing montage of the schoolboy living out his repetitive day to day life.

US experimental artists Animal Collective also had their music featured in the show, with their track 'Winter's Love' playing during a scene in which Bart played in the snow.

The Simpsons creators' inclusion of musicians in cameo roles is well-noted, with them featuring the likes of Red Hot Chili Peppers, Smashing Pumpkins and rock-parody troupe Spinal Tap on the show. Oh, and they also featured Ke$ha's 'Tik-Tok' that one time, the video of which I have included below for the masochist's among you:
