Watch: Soundgarden Unveil ‘Live to Rise’ Video

Band release music video for their first song in 15 years.

Soundgarden have released the music video for their new song 'Live To Rise', which plays over the end credits of box-office (Hulk) smash The Avengers. The free track was released on April 17th on iTunes and was promptly downloaded over 350,000 times in the first week.

Speaking of his decision to record a track in cross-promotion with Marvel's latest superhero throwdown, frontman Chris Cornell said: In this day and age you don't have the monolithic record company with seemingly limitless resources and multimillion-dollar profits. They don't exist. Which is why a partnership like this exists. The movie company does have that, and they will promote it. It's the only way to get your music in front of people."

The video for the song features the band performing in front of a glowing blue orb, reminiscent of the Tesseract that serves as the driving force behind the main plot point in the movie. Said video is available to watch below:
