While Eminem is currently in the studio finishing the debut record with rap supergroup collective Slaughterhouse, the gears have begun turning on ideas for his next solo album.

Slim Shady told New York radio station Hot 97 earlier this week: "Right now, I'm actually finishing up everything on the Slaughterhouse album and kind of getting into my next record a little bit. That's basically the couple of things that I've been working on. I'm starting to toy with a new album, yes.

The Recovery champ took Slaughterhouse – comprised of rappers Joel Ortiz, Joe Budden, Crooked I and Royce da 5'9" – under his wing after releasing last year's excellent Bad vs. Evil: Hell The Sequel collaboration album with Royce, and he thinks they have are a much needed force in hip-hop.

"I really feel like this group, hip-hop needs this, man, and I think people are going to see that when this album comes out," he predicted.

Royce da 5'9" has previously talked about Eminem's role as executive producer for Slaughterhouse. "He'll come in and say 'Maybe change a line here, change a verse there, maybe move this around, let me add an instrument here. That's just what an executive producer does. From day one, Marshall was hands-on."
