A whole lotta drama unfolded at the Hot 97 Summer Jam concert in New York City over the weekend. Buzz centerpiece Nicki Minaj was due to perform just before headliners Rick Ross and DJ Khaled, but after a direct dig from Hot 97 DJ Peter Rosenberg, the head of Minaj's Young Money label – none other than Lil' Wayne – pulled Nicki out of the event. He didn't stop there, either: he pulled the entire label roster from the bill.

As he was about to introduce Kendrick Lamar to the stage, Rosenberg throw a verbal grenade at Minaj and a track called “Starships” from her new album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded. “Where is all my real Hip-Hop fans, not that starships,” he said.

Thanks to the power of technology, Lil Wayne directly responded through Twitter and pulled all his Young Money artists out of the concert. "Young Money ain't doing summer jam," he tweeted.

Young Money rapper Tyga went ahead with his performance, but Minaj skipper her performance entirely, turning to Twitter to unleash her anger at the way the evening had unfolded – and to support her boss' decision. “Wow. U niggaz just fucked up history. But the President has spoken,” she wrote. Later she continued, “I go above and beyond for my fans. But won’t ever go against Wayne’s word. What he says, goes.”

Rosenberg, whose comments first ignited the situation, also joined the conversation on Twitter. "Tonight just got interesting g," he wrote. Nonetheless, the performances continued as scheduled, with other artists on the bill playing lengthier sets to make up for the gaps in the schedule.
