It was a tense moment in Texas on Tuesday night as Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor had to be carried off stage after passing out during the final song of his band's headlining set.

The vocalist was performing with his band in Dallas on the latest stop of the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival tour, when he gave fans a fright during the finale when he suddenly dropped to the floor. Filmed footage (watch here – 1:50 in the clip) shows crewmembers rushing onto the stage to assist Taylor, picking him up and carrying him backstage.

Taylor later addressed the scare on Twitter, assuring fans he was just suffering from heat exhaustion and insisting he will be well enough to tackle the band's next gig.

He wrote, "Hello everyone. I'm fine – just overheated in Dallas last night. Ready and waiting for Houston! Thank you to everyone for your concerns!"

Phew.
