Snow Patrol's Gary Lightbody, most famous for singing hits 'Chasing Cars' and 'Run', posted a picture on Twitter of himself in traditional garb whilst on the set of HBO drama Game of Thrones, which you can view below:

The frontman said of his cameo:  "So I did my scene this morning for Game Of Thrones. I looked like this. Can't say much – just it's no pivotal role. Fun!" Lightbody is set to appear in season 3 of the show, filmed on his homeland Ireland, which will air in March 2013. Dame Diana Rigg, Mackenzie Crook, Tara Fitzgerald and Tobias Menzies will also be making appearances.

Snow Patrol, who are frequently mocked for their 'middle-of-the-road rock', recently announced that they would be touring the US and Canada with former Oasis man Noel Gallagher and his band The High Flying Birds. This predictably caught the attention of estranged brother Liam Gallagher, who tweeted: "Snore patrol Noel Gallaghers high flying smurfs who said rock n roll is dead".

Snow Patrol and Noel Gallagher will play 14 dates from October 24th – November 9th, where the pair will headline the Houston Bayou Music Center. Tickets can be purchased at
