As we've seen at the end of this week's Hulk #33, Steve Rogers has an assignment for the Red Hulk that involves launching him into space to deal with the oncoming Omegex. Apparently, whatever happens in #44 leaves him on an alien world as their champion, forcing Ross to continue to learn what it's really like to be a Hulk.
So far, Ross has learned what it's like to be hounded by the army led by a single-minded general determined to end his perceived threat at all costs as well as being hunted by high-tech supervillain geniuses out to destroy him utterly. Now, he'll echo Bruce Banner's sojourns to other worlds, such as his time with Jarella in the microverse or, more directly, Greg Pak's Planet Hulk epic. Does that mean we'll get a World War Red Hulk down the line? We'll have to wait and see, but for now, Jeff Parker's teaming up with the original Planet Hulk artist Carlo Pagulayan to bring us the story of the Red Hulk as a gladiatorial king in constant battle for his life.
