Sony has issued a new press statement that guarantees the full return of the PlayStation Network this week. This applies to the Americas, Europe and Asia, but does not include Japan, Hong Kong and South Korea. Unfortunately, Sony does not provide an exact date for full restoration. It seems they learned their lesson when they said it would be back by May 31, yet that original plan seems to have fallen by the wayside.
“We have been conducting additional testing and further security verification of our commerce functions in order to bring the PlayStation Network completely back online so that our fans can again enjoy the first class entertainment experience they have come to love,” said Kazuo Hirai, Executive Deputy President, Sony Corporation. “We appreciate the patience and support shown during this time.”
We’ll be back with more on this as it becomes available. Hopefully it’s just to report that the PS Store is up and running and we can be done with this whole mess.
