The most recent Call of Duty: Black Ops DLC, Escalation, is now available for PC gamers. That marks one month after the DLC initially dropped on the Xbox 360. That timed exclusivity for Microsoft is part of a deal with Activision that was announced last year at Microsoft's E3 presser.
To say howdy-doo properly to the new round of PC DLC players, Call of Duty: Black Ops will enjoy a double experience weekend. If you're looking to Prestige for the billionth time, this weekend will be a great opportunity to rack up levels and re-unlock the same guns you've been unlocking for months.
Also part of the Escalation celebration weekend is Steam's free play. That's right, if you're a member of Steam and haven't already purchased Black Ops, you'll be able to take a crack at the game for free this weekend. And, yes, that's more than enough time to beat the campaign. Too bad this is just a multiplayer offer, so you won't be able to dive into the single player portion for free.
Still, if you like what you play for free on Steam, you can buy the game at a reduced price of $40.19 for a limited time.
