In this clip from HBO, "Game of Thrones" executive producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss explain why Ned had to die as well as their other insights into the episode.
In their infinite wisdom, HBO has opted to not release a preview scene from this week's first season finale, but they have sent out the synopsis for this week's episode and the season finale trailer.
