If you consider yourself a video game fan, there’s an upcoming movie that you should be aware of. The film is called Indie Game: The Movie, which is a feature-length documentary about “videos games, their creators and the craft.”
Indie Game: The Movie is being directed, produced, shot and edited by only two people — James Swirsky and Lisanne Pajot. The film follows three separate indie game developers. The first story centers on the two-man team of Edmund McMillen and Tommy Refenes, who prepare for the launch of their first major game on the Xbox Live Arcade, Super Meat Boy. The second story focuses on a man named Phil Fish, who shows off this game, Fez, for the first time at the Boston-based PAX East expo. Finally, Indie Game: The Movie delivers the behind-the-scenes story of Jonathan Blow, the creator of the critically-acclaimed indie game, Braid.
When all is said and done, Indie Game: The Movie is about “Four developers, three games, and one ultimate goal – to express one’s self through a video game.”
