Fox is fond of promoting "Terra Nova" as a series "85 million years in the making." And given all of the delays, it certainly feels like its taken a long time to get out of the gate.

"Terra Nova" begins in the future and follows Jim Shannon (Jason O’Mara) and his wife, Elisabeth (Shelley Conn) as they lead their children, Josh (Landon Liboiron), Maddy (Naomi Scott) and Zoe (Alana Mansour) on a dangerous journey back in time to a prehistoric era. The first human settlement there is called Terra Nova; which is under the tight control of its leader, Commander Nathaniel Taylor (Stephen Lang).

As the premise suggests, there will definitely be dinosaurs and other prehistoric threats within the series. Fox has released three new posters to promote "Terra Nova;" which drop a few humorous hints about some of the dangers ahead for the Shannon family.

Additionally, Fox has announced plans to premiere the pilot episode of "Terra Nova" at next month's San Diego Comic-Con International. "Terra Nova" executive producers Rene Echevarria ("The 4400"), Jose Molina and Brannon Braga ("24") will be joined by Stephen Lang and a presumably large crowd on Saturday, July 23 in the San Diego Convention Center. There is also a possibility that other cast members will be added to the panel.

Fox has also set a premiere date for "Terra Nova" in the fall. The two hour pilot episode will debut on Monday, September 26.
