One of the most bewildering projects announced in the last few months has got to be Magic Mike, a male stripper movie based on the life of G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra star Channing Tatum, and directed by Steven Soderbergh. Yes, that sentence is accurate. Look it up. Channing plays a male stripper mentoring the new guy, played by Beastly's Alex Pettyfer. Now TheFabLife has announced that a new set of pectoral muscles will appear in Magic Mike, although we've seen these ones before: Matthew McConaughey, the shirtless wonder himself, has joined the project.
The Lincoln Lawyer himself has now been cast as a "former strip artist" named Dallas, who now runs the establishment where Tatum and Pettyfer work hard for the money. Magic Mike will presumably join Fools Gold, Failure to Launch and everything else Matthew McConaughey has ever done as a delivery mechanism for his bare chest. In all fairness, if we did that many sit-ups, we'd take any excuse to rip our t-shirts off too.
Magic Mike will either be the most amazing thing ever made or the next Cocktails. Possibly both. We can't wait.
CraveOnline will return with more Magic Mike news because hey, we all wish we were like mike.
