It's been seven years since the fall of "Angel," but two of its stars are reuniting onscreen.
TVLIne is reporting that Charisma Carpenter and James Marsters will portray a husband and wife during an episode of the upcoming seventh season of "Supernatural." The episode is currently slated to run as the fifth installment of the season, under the odd title of "Shut Up, Dr. Phil."
“This episode is ‘Bewitched gone wrong,’” explained "Supernatural" showrunner Sera Gamble. “[It was] all upside for this successful man (Marsters) while he was married to the witch (Carpenter), but now that he’s pissed her off, the whole town is paying the price.”
Carpenter and Marsters are both well known for portraying Cordelia Chase and the vampire known as Spike on the classic "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" TV series. Carpenter later reprised her role on four seasons (and one fifth season episode) of "Angel" and Marsters joined "Angel" as Spike in its fifth and final season.
Outside of the Buffyverse, both Carpenter and Marsters have been in many genre related TV and film projects. Carpenter has made guest appearances on "Charmed," "Legend of the Seeker" and "Veronica Mars." Marsters has made a number of memorable turns, including stints on "Torchwood," "Smallville" and "Caprica" as well as vocal performances in "Superman: Doomsday," "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" and "DC Universe Online."
Marsters and Carpenter are expected to film their "Supernatural" episode near the end of August.
