There's never a shortage of great music acts to check out across the country at any given time, and the next few weeks are no exception. From bands with staying power to country music powerhouses, these are just a few of the top tours in Canada that you should keep an eye out for – they just may be stopping in a city near you.
Travelling and playing in major cities from the east to west coasts, Pearl Jam, who are celebrating their 20th anniversary (yep, 20 years) are also the talk of the town in Toronto as their documentary flick "Pearl Jam Twenty" gets set to debut at TIFF next month.
The unstoppable Lauryn Hill of The Fugees fame will be joined by Nas for two Canadian performance dates set for September – she'll be in Montreal on the 6th at the Bell Centre and in Toronto at Molson Canadian Amphitheatre on the 8th.
Kings of Leon
American rock band Kings of Leon are planning just two stops north of the border during their upcoming tour, and Vancouver and Ottawa are the lucky cities – look for them on September 28th at the former and October 15th at the latter.
The English group that got their start way back in the late 1970s are still going strong, launching a worldwide tour with only a handful of Canadian stops in support of their new album "All Your Need is Now," which is set for release in March.
Country music superstar Keith Urban is kicking off his Get Closer 2011 World Tour in New York on September 8th and then he begins his trek across the country, starting with a show in the Nation's Capital on September 9th and wrapping up in Vancouver on September 26th.
The pretty and sweet country gal who has won the hearts of just about everybody, Taylor Swift's Speak Now World Tour includes a mere two Canadian dates, both of which are scheduled for Vancouver on September 10th and 11th.
Always outlandish, bad-girl Ke$ha is invading Calgary on September 6th and will then be hitting up Edmonton as well as Vancouver as a part of her Get Slea$y Tour with special guests LMFAO and Spank Rock.
