Call of Duty Elite Beta Launches on PS3

If you're a PlayStation 3 gamer and you've been looking to fire up Call of Duty Elite for the first time, word comes from Activision that you can officially begin the process. Call of Duty Elite is now go for the PS3.

You'll need to register for the beta first by heading to callofduty.com/elite and joining the process.

Here's what the release says regarding what beta testers can expect from this experience:

The Call of Duty Elite Beta, utilizing Call of Duty: Black Ops, will test select features and functionality, including stat tracking, the use of custom player groups, competitive events and video sharing.

If you're a premium member of Call of Duty Elite, you'll be able to snag all the DLC that drops for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 for free after the game releases.

It will cost you $50 to access the premium tier of the service; however, assuming Modern Warfare 3 will receive four or more DLC packs at $15 a shot, you'll get your money's worth.

The beta of Elite has been available for the Xbox 360 since July. Have any of you folks enjoyed the service there?
