Remember all those despondent people who were apparently borderline suicidal over not being able to live in the world of Avatar? Disney does, and they've got a plan to turn their loneliness into profit: Avatar is coming to Disneyland!
Deadline reports that Avatar will makes its first appearance at Disney World in Orlando, Florida, specifically in their "Animal Kingdom." (Way to de-humanized the Na'Vi, you guys. "Animals?" What, is Giovanni Ribisi in charge over there?) Apparently the goal is to make not so much a "ride" as an attraction that allows visitors at The Magic Kingdom to explore the world of Pandora on their own.
Quoth the James Cameron: "With two new 'Avatar' films currently in development, we’ll have even more locations, characters and stories to explore. […] Our goal is to go beyond current boundaries of technical innovation and experiential storytelling, and give park goers the chance to see, hear, and touch the world of 'Avatar' with an unprecedented sense of reality."
But don't buy your tickets yet, folks. They're anticipating the start of construction by 2013, and God only knows how long it's going to take to actually finish the damned thing.
CraveOnline will return with more Avatar news as soon as we unobtain it.
