With the entirely unexpected news that Patty (Monster) Jenkins is now the front runner to direct Thor 2 came talks with Kevin Feige, the CEO of Marvel Studios. We imagine his life to be a mixture of constant celebrations and late night skinny dips in a pool of money, but of course he makes the time to produce every single Marvel Studios superhero movie, pretty much of all of which have been excellent so far. So if they're looking for a new director, they probably at least have a plot by now, right? Damn right they do. Feige says that Thor 2 will "take Thor literally to other worlds."

According to Feige, in a recent interview with Entertainment WeeklyThor 2 will "primarily be the journey of that character, of he and Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) and how the new dynamic with his father (Odin, played by Anthony Hopkins) is working out, as well as what are the broader stakes for The Nine Worlds."

With The Avengers supposedly going intergalactic in scope, this is encouraging news for the expansion of the Marvel Universe (and lends credibility to those Guardians of the Galaxy rumors). Alas, the odds of getting Beta Ray Bill out of this are still slim-to-none.

What far-reaching corners of the Marvel Universe would you like Thora the Explora to journey to?
