I bet you love that new iPhone you've got. Get ready to throw it away! Apple just sent out invites confirming the rumored October 4th keynote, which if the “Let’s Talk iPhone” tagline and iPhone screen icons on the invitation are any indication, will be an announcement about developments with the little handheld spaceship.
The Oct. 4 event, which will be held at Apple’s own campus in Cupertino, California, is expected to be the first hosted by recently appointed CEO Tim Cook. Rumors predict that the event will be a demonstration of 4G LTE capabilities that requires equipment Apple has on campus, a good cause for the location selection.
Most in the relative know are expecting a revamped iPhone 4, branded “iPhone 4S” to be announced. That device is rumored to only sport an upgraded A5 chip, 8-megapixel camera, and other minor hardware changes, for a slight markdown on price.
Then again, there's also hopeful speculation that we'll get to see the unveiling of a full iPhone 5 upgrade, although analysts deem the move unlikely. Of course, we'll keep you posted on developments! Check back Tuesday for the full run-down.
