This season of the NFL has almost been like it's been ripped out of the headlines of some f-ed up parallel universe where dogs rule the world and people pee on trees. Teams that have been bad recently are good and some good teams are struggling mightily and all of which is really messing with my fantasy football mojo!. Fortunately, five weeks into it, I'm starting to get a feel for some of these players so I'm all but guaranteeing my locks of the week.
No, seriously, I am… no more duds.
Start of the Week
Cam Newton, QB, Carolina Panthers
Newton has been one of the most shocking storylines of this season so far. Outside of a ho-hum game vs. Jacksonville, he has been a fantasy football stud who has propelled himself into top ten status in this early going. Going up against the New Orleans Saints this weekend will mean he will need to post big numbers to keep up. I believe he will so start him if you can, you know I'm gonna.
Last Weeks Results: Ryan Fitzpatrick, Buffalo Bills (7 fpts)
Studs Who Are Looking To Have A Good Week
Phillip Rivers, QB (at DEN)
Darren McFadden, RB (at HOU)
Fred Jackson, RB (vs PHI)
Hakeem Nicks, WR (vs SEA)
AJ Green, WR (at JAX)
Sit of the Week
Michael Turner, RB, Atlanta Falcons
Turner and the Falcons face the Green Bay Packers and their high powered offense this week and this isn't a great matchup for Turner. Green Bay will put a lot of points on the board so it will be up to Matt Ryaqn and the Falcons passing attack to keep up. I don't look for Turner to get much more than a dozen touches in this game, thereby limiting his FF effectiveness.
Last Weeks Results: Colt McCoy, Cleveland Browns (19 fpts)
Duds To Avoid Playing
Ben Roethlisberger, QB (vs TEN)
BenJarvus Green-Ellis, RB (at NYJ)
Sidney Rice, WR (at NYG)
Owen Daniels, TE (vs OAK)
Top 5 Matchups
