We’re fast approaching the 10th anniversary of Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto III (Holy hell, it’s been that long already?!). To celebrate the occasion, Rockstar has announced that they are bringing the classic Grand Theft Auto III to iOS and Android devices this fall.

Grand Theft Auto III showed us the potential of open world games,” said Rockstar co-founder Sam Houser. “It helped set the vision for the company, and we have been expanding on those possibilities with every game ever since.”

Amen to that, brotha.

The list of specific iOS and Android devices supported are as follows: iPad 2 and iPhone 4S for Apple, the Droid X2, HTC Evo 2, LG Optimus 2X, Motorola Atrix and Samsung Galaxy S2 for Android phones, and the Acer Iconia, Asus Eee Pad, Motorola Xoom and Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 are the supported Android tablets.

If you’re attending the New York Comic-Con this week, this mobile version of GTA III will be playable, presumably at the Rockstar booth.
