Get out your best black suit, sunglasses and neuralyzer, folks. The Men in Black are coming back to the world of video games. Activision has announced an upcoming Men in Black game for spring 2012, which will, of course, coincide with the upcoming Men in Black III film.

Activision is promising that the title will stay true to the spirit of the film franchise, featuring “action-packed, yet light-hearted gameplay mixed with edge-of-your-seat shooting excitement from the universe’s most elite peacekeeping force.” The Men in Black game will feature a standalone story that brings back some familiar faces and introduces new foes to the franchise’s mythology, says Activision. Specific characters and gameplay features will apparently be revealed soon.

Men in Black will launch in spring 2012 for consoles and handhelds. We find it kind of odd that Activision isn’t detailing specific systems just yet, but then again, we don’t even know the game’s developer. Hopefully we’ll know those details soon.
