It seems like we've been covering The Last Stand forever here at CraveOnline. That's because it sounds awesome. On the surface it's a B-Movie without shame, about a border sheriff defending his town from a drug czar trying to flee the United States for the safety of Mexico, and that in and of itself sounds pretty cool. But it's also Arnold F***ing Schwarzenegger's big return to leading man action roles, and the American debut of Korean director Kim Jee-woon, who's directed such superior genre movies as A Tale of Two Sisters and The Good, The Bad, The Weird, both of which should be considered required viewing for anyone who actually reads CraveOnline's Film Channel.

And now… there's even more reasons to be excited. We've covered The Last Stand casting news for a while now, with Peter Stormare, Zach Gilford and Eduardo Noriega all being announced at a leisurely pace. But now that production has just started we've heard confirmation from Hollywood Reporter that they've rounded out the ensemble with such eye-catching stars as Jaimie Alexander (Thor), Johnny Knoxville (Jackass), Luis Guzman (Boogie Nights), Harry Dean Stanton (Repo Man) and Academy Award-winner Forest Whitaker (The Last King of Scotland). That's a hell of a group for what could have been a low-budget action movie without the aid of Arnold Schwarzenegger.

CraveOnline will be back with more The Last Stand news as soon as they attach Daniel Day-Lewis or something.
