Microsoft and Epic Games have announced the second piece of downloadable content for Gears of War 3. The pack is called “RAAM’s Shadow” and will release on December 13th for 1,200 MS Points.

In “RAAM’s Shadow,” players get a whole new campaign mission that’s said to last more than three hours. It’s actually a prequel to the original Gears of War, featuring the characters Michael Barrick (from the Gears comics), Lt. Minh Young Kim (Gears 1), Tai Kaliso (Gears 2) and a new face, Alicia Valera. Players will also be able to play as the deadly General RAAM, the main villain from the first Gears of War, if you can remember that far back in your old age.

“When we announced the ‘Gears 3Season Pass, we immediately started getting hundreds of questions from fans about what the game add-ons would be,” said Epic Games Design Director Cliff Bleszinski. “We’re really excited to be lifting the curtain on the first two releases, first with the ‘Horde Command Pack’ and now with ‘RAAM’s Shadow,’ which gives fans a new perspective on the ‘Gears’ universe and is also the biggest DLC release we’ve ever made.”

In addition to the campaign mission, “RAAM’s Shadow” brings with it six new multiplayer skins, the chocolate weapon set and 250 new Achievement points.

This all sounds good to us. See you back on the battlefield come December 13.
