Over the years, Ice Cube has been well known as a rapper, a film actor, a writer and a producer, but never a TV star… until now.

Deadline is reporting that Ice Cube is set to headline and executive produce a new drama pilot for FX called "Eye For An Eye." In the proposed series, Cube will portray a veteran paramedic who snaps after witnessing the aftermath of too many violent crimes while attempting to save victims in the back of his ambulance. Thus, Cube's character develops a taste for taking the law into his own hands as his ongoing quest for vigilante revenge starts to send his personal life spiraling out of control.

Cube is executive producing "Eye For An Eye" alongside Matt Alvarez from Cube Vision and Josh Barry from Prospect Park. A screenwriter for the pilot episode has not yet been found.

in addition to his highly successful solo career as a rapper, Cube was also a member of C.I.A. and N.W.A. before he ultimately moved on to starring in movies like "xXx: State of the Union," "Barbershop," "All About the Benjamins," "Three Kings," "Anaconda," "Boyz n the Hood," "Higher Learning" and "Dangerous Ground." Cube also wrote and starred in the "Friday" trilogy of films.

More recently, Cube executive produced a TV version of his film, "Are We There Yet?" for TBS, upon which he also has a recurring role. However, if "Eye For An Eye" goes forward at FX, it will be Cube's first starring role on television.
