Yesterday, I posted an editorial airing my frustrations with the “rev-reveal” of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance from the Spike Video Game Awards (read: Why Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance Has Me Nervous). In said article I briefly touch on the fact that Metal Gear Solid: Rising, as it once was called, was essentially canceled in secret because the development team at Kojima Productions lost focus on the project. However, Platinum Games, the makers of Bayonetta and Vanquish, stepped in to pick up the pieces and are working on finishing the title.

Now, Konami has posted a 25-minute documentary detailing everything that went on behind the scenes with Metal Gear Rising, speaking with Hideo Kojima about the project’s rise, fall and resurgence. I’ve saved you the trouble of seeking out Konami’s website and embedded the video below.

Does this make you feel any better about Metal Gear Rising’s new direction, or are you still turned off by the game’s uber action? Sound off below.
