After months of hype and unfortunately lackluster stories, "Terra Nova" wraps up its first season on Fox later tonight with a two hour finale.

While the broadcast is still hours away, the early buzz from Entertainment Weekly suggests that the episodes finally deliver "the more grounded, grown-up, believable TV series that felt like a true struggle for survival" that we wanted to see in the first place.

We'll find out soon enough if that's the case. But here's what we do know: Lucas Taylor (Ashley Zukerman) succeeded in getting back to 2149 and now there's an army on the way from the future that is out to destroy the Terra Nova colony and everything that it stood for.

In the first preview clip, Commander Nathaniel Taylor (Stephen Lang) and his right hand man, Jim Shannon (Jason O'Mara) suspiciously oversee the arrival of the 11th pilgrimage from the future while expecting a brutal attack.

During the second preview clip, Terra Nova has apparently fallen to the invaders from the future as Jim talks to his wife, Elisabeth Shannon (Shelley Conn) about the new martial law of the colony.

For the third clip, Skye (Allison Miller) is brought before the "new" leader of Terra Nova, Lucas Taylor.

During the fourth preview clip, Lucas unleashes some heavy firepower to destroy his father and Jim in the jungle.

Lt. Alicia Washington (Simone Kessell) meets up with the Shannons during the fifth preview clip, as she prepares to create a distraction to allow them to escape the occupied Terra Nova.

Taylor suggests a radical step to regain control of the situation in our sixth clip.

And finally, Jim Shannon stows a ride back to the future in the seventh preview clip.

The season finale of "Terra Nova" airs tonight at 8PM, only on Fox.
