Warner Brothers and TT Games have officially announced a sequel to Lego Batman. However, it’s not just Batman and the rest of the Bat-family ridding the scum off Gotham’s streets. This time around, Batman has called in the heavy artillery, asking Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern and more of his super friends to aid in his mission. Because of its focus on a larger, more super-powered DCU, this sequel is being called Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes.

In addition to the new heroes joining the adventure, Lego Batman 2 will feature new suits, gadgets and vehicles. The game’s plot will center around the Joker and Lex Luthor teaming up to pull off some dastardly deed, no doubt.

"LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes builds upon the action and cooperative gameplay experience established in our best-selling LEGO video game to date, LEGO Batman: The Videogame," said Tom Stone, Managing Director, TT Games. "We're offering fans a rich and expansive Gotham City environment filled with cool characters, great customization options and plenty of surprises that families, young gamers and DC Universe fans can enjoy together."

Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes is set to launch during the summer of 2012 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, PC, DS, 3DS and PlayStation Vita. So, pretty much every system available.
