Wikipedia - SOPA

Government officials and Anti-Piracy advocates (many in the entertainment industry) are currently clashing with with the open source (Mozilla, Wikipedia) and general web community (Google, Wired, Reddit, Craigslist) over two bills that are currently making the rounds in the US. The Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) is before the House and the Protect IP Act (PIPA) is before the Senate. The proponents say that they are trying to curb rampant online piracy, while the detractors say that the bills are threats to civil liberties and may even cause some security issues.

In protest of both bills sites like Wikipedia, WordPress, reddit, Arstechnica and even our buddies at Gunaxin have gone dark and blacked out parts of their site to bring attention to the issue.

Take a look at the infographic below for a look at the issue in relation to it's impact on Wikipedia.
