Jak and Daxter on the verge of a comeback. [Editor’s note: hells yes!] Sony announced today that the Jak & Daxter Collection — collecting Jak & Daxter, Jak II and Jak 3, all remastered in high definition — will be available on February 7, 2012. Sony is only asking a measly $40 for the triple pack, which, as far as we’re concerned, is an absolute steal.

In addition to collecting three of the best games ever to grace the PlayStation 2, the Jak & Daxter Collection will offer up more than 100 Trophies for the obsessive compulsive gamers out there to collect. Frankly, we’re happy with just having the games playable on a PS3, but for those who need extra incentive to revisit these classics, the added Trophies should suffice.

For those who’ve never played the Jak & Daxter trilogy, do yourself a favor and pick up this HD collection when it releases. Pronto. You won’t regret it. Plus, as an added bonus, you get to see what Naughty Dog was up to before they decided to create a love letter to the Indiana Jones franchise with Uncharted.

So mark those calendars for February 7th; the day when one of the last HD Collections we absolutely need releases.
