Ever since "Fringe" introduced the concept of an alternate universe within its narrative, almost every character with a counterpart on the other Earth has come face-to-face with their double except for Astrid (Jasika Nicole) and "Kick-Astrid" (a nickname endorsed by Jasika Nicole herself). But as the above picture illustrates, that is about to change with this Friday's episode,
In "Making Angels," Astrid is surprised when her counterpart comes to our world to help the Fringe team track down a killer who is using a toxin that hasn't even been invented yet. The description of the episode also promises that the case will "[push] the boundaries of what is possible."
Fox has released a special video promo for the new episode, in which Nicole and her co-stars, John Noble, Anna Torv and Joshua Jackson describe what it was like watching the two Astrids come together for an unusually moving story.
"I've been really wanting an opportunity to know more about Astrid and to explore who she was," says Nicole in the video. "But even more than that, it's a really beautifully written episode."
“It would be easy for the writers to say, ‘Oh, there’s an Astrid episode; she solves a case.’" added Nicole. "But it’s not that simple. It’s a really lovely story about Astrid [and Kick-Astrid] meeting each other.”
Don't miss the new episode of "Fringe," this Friday at 9PM on Fox!
