We’ve Got Two New Avengers Stills!

Anyone else not loving Cap's new helmet?

We're barely two months away from seeing Joss Whedon's The AvengersTwo months?! Man, time flies. Seems like only yesterday that the film was just a pipe dream in the heads of comic book fans everywhere. But in case you somehow forgot that the film was on its way, Disney has sent us two new stills from the production, including a nice little bonding moment between Agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) and Thor (Chris Hemsworth), and an old-fashioned "team walking towards the camera" shot featuring Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), Captain America (Chris Evans) and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson)… well, walking towards the camera, just like the closing shots of a Buffy the Vampire Slayer opening credits sequence.

Neither shot, pointedly, reveals anything about The Avengers' storyline, and frankly, we're not sure we would have released the group picture, since Cap's helmet looks pretty rigid, almost reminiscent of the 1979 TV movie with the god-awful motorcycle gear. We're not complaining, really, since we trust Marvel Studios on this one, but we're just saying it's not the route we would have gone.
