‘The Walking Dead’ Season 2 Episode 12 Preview

Carl did a bad, bad thing... Now, who is going to pay the price?

In the most recent episode of "The Walking Dead," Dale (Jeffrey DeMunn) begged his fellow survivors to spare the life Randall (Michael Zegen), not for his own sake, but to keep what little humanity that the group had left. Unsurprisingly, very few were moved by Dale's argument.

And while we've been waiting for the tension between Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and Shane Walsh (Jon Bernthal) to light the spark of a conflict that will destroy the group, it was Rick's young son, Carl (Chandler Riggs) who inadvertently set in motion a chain of events that claimed the life of one of their own.

In the first picture from next Sunday's new episode, Carl seems to be struggling with his guilt about what he did. But will he tell his father?

And in the second picture, we get another look at Shane. Will he step up and become the new moral authority of the survivors? Probably not.

For this week's preview scene, we see that Herschel (Scott Wilson) and his family have finally accepted Rick and his survivors into their home as they prepare for a harsh winter and other external threats. And much to Shane's chagrin, Rick appears to have reversed himself once again about Randall's fate.

Although Shane may turn out to have been correct about Randall's intentions, if the official synopsis is any indication.
